Vent: The day I swore by eBay circuit boards and now I won't touch them
I used to think buying used main boards off eBay was a smart way to save cash on repairs, but last week I got a Canon AE-1 board that was completely fried inside despite the listing saying 'tested working'. It took me 3 hours to figure out the problem, and now I'm out $45 plus shipping. Has anyone else had better luck with aftermarket boards from a specific seller or am I just cursed?

Got burned the exact same way. Bought a "fully tested" Sony A7 II power board. Dead on arrival. Seller ghosted me. eBay sided with me but still took two weeks.
Now I only buy from sellers with 99% plus feedback and actual return policies. Not just "tested working" garbage. Spend the extra money on a reputable refurbisher instead. Learned that lesson hard.
