Unpopular opinion: I picked a $9 soldering iron over my $80 station for one tiny joint and it worked better
The ground wire on a Nikon FM2 pressure plate needed one quick tack and my big station was too hot even dialed down, so I grabbed the cheap pencil iron and got a clean joint in about 4 seconds without melting the plastic nearby, and now I'm wondering if anyone else keeps a little backup iron around for the delicate stuff.

Sounds like the real win was having a second iron handy, not that the cheap one is better. Pretty sure a $9 pencil can't hold temp for anything longer than a few seconds anyway.
