Tried to revive a Canon AE-1 with isopropyl and a toothbrush...
It actually dissolved some of the foam light seal gunk but then the mirror box got cloudy and I had to take it apart again. Anyone else wreck something simple by cleaning too aggressively?

Soaked a light seal into a sticky paste that got all over the focusing screen. Made a $50 cleanup turn into a $200 lesson in why you don't scrub like you're trying to win a battle.
