Threw $200 at a used lens cleaning station from eBay and it paid off on one job

I was skeptical about dropping that kind of cash on a used ultrasonic cleaner, but after a client brought in a fungus-covered 50mm f/1.4, I got it sparkling in 15 minutes. That single repair fee covered the cost, anyone else find gear that makes back its price fast?

Picked up a used ultrasonic cleaner for $150 at a pawn shop. Threw in some lens cleaning solution and ran a batch of old filters and a scratched UV filter. Cleaned them up better than I expected. Made the money back in two days after a client saw the before and after shots. Always keep the ultrasonic cleaner on low heat you don't want to melt the lens coatings.

Did you have any trouble with the ultrasonic making the coatings peel off? I tried cleaning an old vintage lens once and the coating just flaked right into the water like snow. Lesson learned the hard way.
