Spent 3 years cleaning lens elements the wrong way and a guy in Reno caught it in 10 seconds
Last month a repair guy in Reno watched me wipe down a front element with a dry microfiber and just said "you're grinding dust into the coating, dude." Turns out I was using the same cloth for the whole teardown instead of a fresh one per pass, so every lens I cleaned for 3 years probably got a little worse each time. How do you all handle cloth rotation on a full teardown, one per surface or one per lens?
