Shoutout to the guy who warned me about old Copal shutters

Had a 1960s leaf shutter freeze up on me mid-job last Tuesday in my shop. It was a Copal #1 from an old Mamiya press camera, and I found out the actuating ring was binding from dried grease. Has anyone else had these get sticky after sitting for years?

Was the dried grease mostly in the actuating ring track or did it spread into the shutter blades too?

Found the exact same thing with a Copal #1 from an old Mamiya Universal. Grease had turned to glue in the actuating ring channel, blades were fine just needed a good cleanout.
