Yeah, mine had the same gunked-up slow speed issue.

Weird shutter issues on those old Pentax cameras are common. I fixed mine by cleaning the old grease out of the slow speed escapement.

Can confirm the_gray is right about the old grease. I used a tiny bit of lighter fluid on a toothpick to soften it, then cleaned it all out with isopropyl alcohol. The shutter speeds on my Spotmatic were way off until I did that. Just be careful with the tiny springs.
