Just fixed a 1978 Canon F-1 with a $3 parts donor from a garage sale
Picked up a junker F-1 for the shutter curtain but the mirror damper foam was shot on my daily shooter. Swapped the whole mirror box assembly instead, took about 40 minutes with a JIS screwdriver and some patience. Has anyone else had luck salvaging parts from basket cases rather than ordering new foam kits?
