Found a fix for sticky aperture blades using a old lighter flint trick

I had a 70s era Pentax lens with blades stuck from old oil, and after trying 3 different solvents with no luck, I rubbed the blades with a worn flint from a bic lighter and it freed them up instantly. The grit is just fine enough to grab the gunk without scratching the metal, has anyone else tried something off the wall like this?

That lighter flint trick reminds me of how the best fixes usually come from stuff you already got lying around, not the fancy specialty tools... same way a butter knife works better than a screwdriver when you're prying something delicate.
