Bought a $300 sensor cleaning kit, ruined it in 5 minutes

Was excited to finally do my own sensor clean on my old DSLR. Followed a YouTube video from a guy with 200k subs. Used the swab dry for a second too long across the sensor, and it dragged a tiny piece of grit across the middle. Sent it to a shop, they charged me $140 to re-clean it and the sensor now has a faint streak I can't ignore. Anyone else trust the tutorials and then pay double at a pro shop after messing up?

MAN, that hurts just reading it! I did the EXACT same thing with a cheap kit and my old camera. The sensor is NOT the place to get brave with a dry swab. YouTube makes it look way easier than it is, and one tiny piece of dust turns into a $140 mistake real fast. I just live with my streak now and let the pros touch it from here on out.
