Am I the only one who stopped pulling the lens apart to clean fungus and just hit it with UV light now?
Five years ago I would spend two hours on a bench in my Denver apartment with a spanner wrench and q-tips fighting a hazy 50mm, and last night I just left a nasty-looking Canon FD in a UV nail lamp for 20 minutes and the fungus was dead and gone. The glass came out clear enough to shoot, though I know the etching is still under there if I look hard. Does anyone here still crack the elements apart for this, or have you all moved on too?
