Update: That week I had to run a new drop through a crawlspace full of old insulation and spiders in Portland.

It took me two hours and three cans of spray foam to seal the entry point, but the signal strength at the modem went from 65 dBmV to a perfect 0, and the homeowner tipped me an extra $20 for not complaining about the mess.

Flooded basements sound way worse than spiders lol. I'd take the crawlspace any day, no offense @jennifer_fisher. That zero signal is a sweet win though.

See, I gotta push back on that "perfect 0 is the best feeling" thing. I'd rather have a messy signal than deal with fiberglass itch for a week (no joke, that stuff gets everywhere). Crawlspaces are just a different kind of awful, spiders or no spiders.

That perfect 0 signal is the best feeling. I once had to wade through a flooded basement to get to a junction box.
