Spent $400 on a Klein crimp tool last month - best money I've ever put down or a total waste?
I was fighting bad connections for 6 months before I bit the bullet on the premium tool, but my buddy swears his $40 special from Harbor Freight gets the same results so which side are you on?

Oh man, that's the eternal question lol. I've noticed this pattern everywhere not just with tools but with kitchen knives, headphones, even backpacks. You pay premium for reliability and peace of mind, but sometimes the cheap stuff gets you 95% of the way there for 10% of the price. The real difference shows up when you're using it every single day under stress. That Klein crimper will probably outlast your buddy's Harbor Freight one by years, plus it'll feel better in your hand the whole time. But if he's only crimping a few connectors a year then yeah he's fine with the cheap one. It's like buying a good mattress versus a cheap one - you don't notice the difference until you're spending hours on it.

Gotta think about how long you'll actually use it too. @lucas159 nailed it with the daily vs occasional use thing, but nobody talks about resale value. Good tools hold their price if you ever sell them, cheap ones go straight in the trash.
