My 8-year-old nephew asked me why we bury the cables instead of just painting them green to hide them in the grass.
I was explaining my job at a family BBQ last weekend, and he looked at me with this totally serious face and said, 'Wouldn't it be faster to just use a really big green marker?' and honestly... for a second, I almost considered it.

Honestly that kid is onto something, it would be a lot cheaper. I saw a video once where they talked about how painting stuff like that would just wear off in like a year from weather and mowers. The real headache is when you have to find a buried line later, at least green paint would be easy to spot.
