Lost a $650 job in Fresno because I forgot one stupid thing in the truck
Two weeks ago I got to a two story house in Fresno for a three room drop and realized my fish rods were still sitting on the bench back at the shop. The run was through a finished wall with fire blocking, so no rods meant no way to push the line down from the attic. I called my lead and he said to just drill from the crawl space up, which would have meant cutting drywall in a room the homeowner had just painted. I said no thanks, drove 40 minutes back to the shop, grabbed the rods, and got the drops done by 4pm. Customer was happy but my dispatcher chewed me out for the gap in my route. Point is I now do a truck check before I leave the yard, no exceptions. Anyone got a checklist they actually stick to or do we all just learn this the hard way?
