Lost 3 hours to a bad ground clamp yesterday

I was troubleshooting a drop in signal on a triple play install. Checked every splitter and connector twice. Finally found the ground block had a loose screw on the clamp. It was finger tight the whole time. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on something this simple?

Hate when that happens. Spent a whole morning once on a similar issue where the ground wire had a tiny bit of corrosion under the screw. Looked fine but just wasn't making good contact. You check everything else twice before you go back to the basics. Felt like a real dummy when I finally scraped it clean and the signal came right back. Good reminder for all of us that the simple stuff gets overlooked sometimes.

@grant569 I kinda see it the other way though - sometimes chasing simple stuff like ground wires eats up your whole day when the real problem was a bad component all along. Why not start with the expensive parts first and save the cheap fixes for later?
