Last Tuesday was the worst day I have had on the job in 2 years

Started with a customer who wanted their cable run through an attic that was barely 2 feet tall and hit 110 degrees by 10 AM. Then my crimper broke halfway through terminating a 48-port patch panel in a new office build downtown. Has anyone else had a day where everything just went wrong from the start?

Man oh man, I feel your pain on that one. For me, I started keeping a backup bag with a spare crimper and a few extra tools in my trunk after a similar meltdown with a punchdown tool. It’s not a total fix, but at least you can keep moving instead of packing up and losing the whole afternoon.

Didn't think I'd ever agree with keeping a whole backup setup just for tools, but you just made a solid point. Losing an afternoon because a cheap crimper gave out is way more annoying than tossing a spare bag in the trunk. Might have to steal that idea and grab a backup punchdown tool while I'm at it.
