Customer swore the wall was hollow, found a support beam behind drywall
Had a job in Austin last Tuesday, homeowner pointed at a spot and said 'drill anywhere here, it's just sheetrock.' Hit a steel stud on the first try, bent my bit and took 20 extra minutes to relocate. Anyone else have clients guess wrong about their own walls?

Homeowners are basically licensed wall inspectors in their own minds until the drill bit says otherwise. That steel stud was just waiting to humble you, and it sounds like it did its job on the first try. Next time charge extra for the customer's incorrect blueprint of their own house.
