Conduit sharing in apartments has me stumped

Setting up internet in my apartment, I noticed all the units share one conduit. This makes adding new lines a headache. What's the best way to handle this without causing issues for others?

Actually, not every unit, but most connect to that main line. @mary_carter80's backups make sense because it gets overwhelmed. The setup is often simpler than it looks.

It's like my brain refuses to accept that fact, even though I see it every day. I once tried to figure out how it all works and just made myself dizzy. Now I just laugh when something backs up because of course it's that pipe. My own cluelessness is a running joke in my home at this point. You'd think I'd learn, but nope.
