Appreciation post: the old drops in a house off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie got me thinking about how we used to run lines
Did a service call last week at a 1920s house out on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie and the basement still had the old staple gun runs with ceramic knobs holding everything. Whoever did that work spaced the staples maybe every 8 inches, dead straight, looked like a machine did it. Made me think about how fast we slam stuff in now with a cordless stapler and zip ties, and how half my new builds would not look that clean in 100 years. Any of you still keep a manual hammer stapler in the truck for tight crawlspaces, or am I just being old about it?
