Why does nobody talk about how a $300 batch of walnut can just decide to cup on you overnight?
I had a whole stack for a built-in bookcase in a Seattle bungalow go from flat to a 1/4-inch curve in the middle after I left it in the shop over the weekend, so now I'm staring at a pile of expensive firewood and a very unhappy homeowner.

That's brutal, a quarter inch in a weekend? The Seattle air must have just poured into your shop. It's like the wood waits until you turn your back to throw a fit. All that work and money just gone in a couple of days, I'd be sick. Hard to explain that to a client when it feels like the material itself betrayed you.

Quarter inch in a weekend? That's insane. I'd be pulling my hair out if I prepped a board and it moved that much that fast. Makes you wonder if the wood was just sitting in some damp warehouse before it got to you.

Betrayed you" is right, @the_richard. Did you have it sealed at all?
