Why does nobody talk about dust collection in small shops
I was at a local cabinet meeting in Portland last week and overheard a guy say he just uses a shop vac for everything, even with his CNC. That got me thinking about all the fine dust I've been breathing in for the last 5 years. Has anyone else found a decent setup that works in a one-car garage without spending $2,000 on a cyclone?

My neighbor runs a 3-person cabinet shop out of his two-car garage with a Harbor Freight dust collector and a cheap separator bucket, works fine for his CNC. A Super Dust Deputy clone on a Rigid shop vac handles my whole setup for under $200.

Biggest thing nobody talks about is how those cyclone separators actually work way better with a shop vac than a full dust collector. Less CFM means the air stays spinning longer in the bucket and doesn't just blow straight through.
