Why does everyone push drawer boxes out of prefinished ply, I went solid maple and I'd do it again
Every shop around me says prefinished ply is the smart call for drawer boxes, but I built a 6 drawer kitchen in solid maple last spring for a job in Salem and it still slides dead quiet with zero edge banding to peel. The ply guys keep saying I wasted money, but I priced it at about $18 more per box and I'll eat that for something that won't chip out at the top edge in 3 seasons. Anybody here actually had a maple box fail on them, or is this just shop habit at this point?
