Update: Took me 6 hours to figure out a drawer alignment issue
I was installing some inset drawers in a kitchen remodel near Tacoma and kept fighting with gaps that were off by like 1/16 inch. Turns out the box wasn't square, I assumed the cabinet was level from the start. After 6 hours of shimming and adjusting, I finally clamped it all and shaved 1/8 off the left side panel. Anyone else ever waste a whole day on something that dumb?

....and the worst part is when you finally fix it you realize the whole problem was something stupid you overlooked from the start. I've done that exact same dance with a cabinet that was out of square, spent hours messing with shims when I should have just checked the box itself first. Sometimes you gotta walk away for an hour and come back fresh before the simple solution hits you.

Respectfully gotta disagree with you there, Joel. Walking away is fine and all, but sometimes that stupid simple thing was sitting right there in front of you because you were overthinking it from the start. I've spent way too many hours rechecking level lines and squaring up frames, only to find out the floor itself was off by a quarter inch and I was fighting physics. Taking a break never helped me notice the floor slope - crawling under the house and looking at the joists did. Maybe that's just my curse though, I get stuck in the weeds and have to brute force my way out instead of stepping back.
