Swapped to a track saw for face frames and now I can't believe I used a circular saw for years

I finally bit the bullet after my 4th straight cabinet door gap from a wandering cut on a 48 inch rail. The difference in tear out alone was worth the switch. Plus no more measuring from the edge of the shoe. Has anyone else dealt with that sinking feeling when you realize you been making it harder on yourself for like a decade?

That "sinking feeling when you realize you been making it harder on yourself for like a decade" hit home hard. Which specific cut were you doing that kept wandering on your circular saw setup, the rip cuts or the crosscuts? I swapped over for dados and panel glue-ups and now I can't look back either.

Have you ever had a circular saw that just wouldn't stay square no matter how much you tweaked it? @logan_schmidt, that wandering cut drove me up a wall for years. I ended up building a tiny jig out of scrap plywood and a couple of clamps, and it finally fixed the problem. But then I got a track saw and it changed everything forever. Still, that old saw sits in my garage and I keep it around just to remind myself how far I came. You just gotta know when to give up and try something different with these tools.
