Spent three hours trying to figure out why my drawer slides were binding
Turned out I had the cabinet box racked by 1/16 of an inch and had to shim the whole thing, anyone else chase a problem like that forever before finding the obvious answer?

Hold on a second... 1/16th of an inch? That's basically the thickness of a credit card. I've gotta wonder if you're overthinking this a bit. Drawer slides have a little wiggle room to them, most of the time a little tap with a hammer can fix things like that. Are you sure you weren't just tired and frustrated after three hours and it seemed bigger than it was? I mean, yeah it's annoying, but it's a drawer, not a piece of fine machinery... sometimes you just gotta muscle it in place and move on.

Had the same issue once and just loosened the screws a hair to let it shift then tightened it back up.
