Spent a whole day trying to get a drawer slide mounted flush

The cabinet carcass had a slight bow I didn't catch, so the slide kept binding. Took me 6 hours of shimming and adjusting to get it right. Anyone have a better method for checking for twist before you start installing hardware?

Grab a long straightedge or even a level and lay it across the carcass opening, corner to corner. If you see light under it, you've got a twist. I'll sometimes use a couple of small wedges or playing cards to shim the low corner, then measure the gap to know how much material to add before I even touch the slides. Saves so much headache.

That's a solid tip from @mitchell.wade. It's funny how so many problems, not just in woodworking, come down to a simple lack of square. You see it in old floors, bad drywall, even picture frames that won't hang right. Always worth the extra five minutes with a straightedge before committing.
