Shoutout to the old timer at the Atlanta woodworking show who said to never trust a laser level
He insisted on using a water level for cabinet runs over 10 feet, which seemed crazy at the time. After a laser failed me on a big kitchen job in Savannah, I tried his method and got a perfect line. Anyone else still use water levels for long installs?

That "old tech solves new problems" point from @emmar75 is spot on. A water level just ignores all the stuff that can throw a laser off, like a slightly warped wall or a bright room.
