Rant: The kitchen guy I hire told me my drawer pull spacing was lazy, he was right

I've been building cabinets for 8 years and always put pulls 3 inches from the top of the drawer. Last month a contractor I sub for pointed out that all my drawer fronts looked off because I was using the same measurement on every size. He said to center the pulls on the panel face instead, which sounds simple but changes everything on a 24 inch drawer versus a 12 inch one. I re-did a set of 14 drawer fronts in his kitchen and the difference was night and day. Now I measure each drawer individually, takes an extra 10 minutes per job but the result is way cleaner. Anyone else had a simple trick like this that you overlooked for years?

Felt that way about my tape measure for 15 years, turns out it had a hook for a reason.
