My go-to glue-up method just failed on a walnut table

The center seam on a 36 inch walnut slab I was working on last night opened up overnight, even with proper clamping. I think the shop was too cold, maybe around 60 degrees, and the glue didn't cure right. Anyone have a favorite wood glue for cooler temps?

One thing nobody's mentioned yet is that Titebond III needs around 30-40 psi on the glue joint to work right in cooler temps, not just clamping pressure. If your clamps were too spaced out or not tight enough, the glue might have gelled before it bonded fully. I'd check your clamp spacing next time, maybe every 6 inches along that 36 inch seam, and add a few more.

Seriously, did you check the wood's moisture content first?

Titebond III works down to 47 degrees.
