Dropped $340 on a dovetail jig and went back to cutting them by hand after 2 weeks
I bought a Leigh jig back in March because a guy at the lumber yard in Tacoma swore it would cut my drawer time in half. Two weeks and about $340 later I had tearout on 6 of my first 10 test drawers, plus I spent more time reading the manual than actually cutting wood. My old marking gauge and Japanese saw were sitting right there the whole time, and honestly my hand cut tails fit tighter with less fuss. The jig is now on a shelf behind my clamp rack collecting dust. Anyone here actually gotten fast with one of these, or did you sell yours too?
