My 1 inch button die jammed on batch #212 and I almost tossed the whole order
Last Thursday I was pressing 212 buttons for a punk band's tour merch at my kitchen table in Toledo when my 1 inch die stopped cutting clean and started leaving a little paper tail on every single pin. I took the die apart, found a tiny wad of paper jammed in the spring, cleaned it out with tweezers and a toothbrush, and it pressed perfect again. How often do you all tear your dies down for a deep clean instead of just wiping the surface?
212 buttons and one paper tail per pin adds up to a real mess, but tearing the die apart every few weeks seems like overkill when a good wipe down usually does the job. That spring wad sounds like a fluke, not a sign you need a full breakdown routine.
