Why does nobody talk about the number of button presses your thumb makes in a single day? I counted mine last Tuesday
I got bored at my desk job last Tuesday and decided to actually count every single button and switch I pressed from 9am to 5pm. The total came out to 847 presses, and that includes my mechanical keyboard, the office copier, the elevator panel, and the microwave in the break room. What surprised me is that 312 of those were the same spacebar and backspace keys on my keyboard, which means I spend most of my click energy fixing typos. I found this out using a free key counter app I downloaded to my work laptop, and it made me realize how much I take the feel of each press for granted. My Logitech mouse clicks started to feel mushy around press 600, while the old elevator button in the lobby still has this satisfying hard snap. Has anyone else tracked their daily press count, and did any specific button surprise you by wearing out faster than expected?

Whoa, 312 presses on just spacebar and backspace is wild, that's basically a typo tax on every sentence.
