Spent $12 on a switch tester from Amazon and it saved me from a $90 keyboard mistake
So I've been wanting a new keyboard for months but I couldn't decide on switches since you can't really tell from videos. I almost dropped $90 on a board with cherry browns just based on reviews, but last month I grabbed one of those little 9 key tester things off Amazon for like $12 instead. Best money I've spent all year honestly. The browns felt mushy and scratchy to me in person, nothing like what people describe online. But the blues on that tester clicked so clean and crisp that I ended up ordering a board with them the next day. My roommate hates me now lol but that $12 tester saved me from wasting $90 on switches I would've hated. Just wish I'd done this before I bought my last board honestly. Has anyone else used one of those testers and been totally surprised by what they actually liked vs what they thought they'd like?
