Figured out why my volume knob felt loose, the little set screw was the whole problem
Two weeks ago my stereo amp had this wobbly volume knob that made a clicking noise every time I turned it past 3 o'clock. I pulled the knob off and found a tiny 1.5mm set screw that had backed out about a quarter turn. Snugged it down with an Allen key from a bike tool kit and now it turns like it did the day I got it. Took me a year of turning it like it was made of glass before I even thought to look for a screw. Anyone else almost replace a whole control when it just needed a tweak?
