Dropped $85 on an arcade stick with a Sanwa lever and my wrists stopped hurting after two nights
Had been mashing a mushy membrane pad for years and my left thumb was toast after every session, so I grabbed a used Hori Real Arcade Pro off a guy in Portland for $85 and the clicky microswitches changed everything. Anyone else find that a real gate and spring weight beats whatever rubber dome is in the stock controller, or am I just late to the party?

A used Hori for $85 with microswitches is still just a plastic box with the same wiring as a pad though, the click is placebo. Your thumbs hurt cause you were gripping wrong and now you're holding the stick different, not cause Sanwa switches did anything. Plenty of people win tourneys on stock pads, so the gate and spring weight is mostly a feel thing, not a fix.
