The week we got a whole herd of grass-fed cattle in from a local farm
It was a huge order, over 20 head, and we had to process it all in three days. The first day, our main band saw motor burned out halfway through breaking down the first side. We had to finish the whole primal with hand saws and knives, which added hours. The upside was the meat quality was amazing, but the equipment failure made it a real grind. Anyone ever have a big piece of gear fail right in the middle of a rush job?

That motor burning out sounds like the worst timing.

Honestly @dixon.rose, it really was. Was it the main drive motor or something else? Trying to figure out if it was just bad luck or if something else was going on to cause it to fail right then.

Yeah, that "main band saw motor burned out" situation is brutal. We keep a backup hand crank grinder for when the electric one quits, it saved us last time. It's slow but it gets you to the finish line.
