Rant: Lost a whole side of beef because my walk-in fridge temp reader was off by 8 degrees

I was at my shop in Portland last Tuesday when I opened the door and smelled that sweet-sour rot, traced it to a dying thermocouple that had been reading 34F for three days while the actual temp was sitting at 42F, what temp check system do you guys trust for your coolers?

Honestly, that "dying thermocouple" part really got me, I used to trust the built in readers too.

@jennifer_fisher I get your point but those built in readers are usually garbage, you gotta double check with a real tool.
