Tried a 45 degree wall angle in a small room and it backfired

I was working on a tiny home office, about 8 by 10 feet, and wanted to make it feel bigger. I saw a design video where someone angled a wall at 45 degrees to create a cool nook. So I built one out from a corner using drywall and a 2x4 frame. The result was awful. It just ate up floor space and made the room feel even more cramped and weirdly shaped. I learned that trick only works in much larger spaces with specific layouts. Has anyone else tried a bold structural change in a small room that totally flopped?

Sounds like you learned that lesson the hard way.

Maybe @kellyj23, but angled walls can actually make a small room feel more dynamic if you plan the layout right.
