The time I forgot to account for the floor slope...

I was building a custom entertainment center for a buddy's older house in Portland, and I leveled everything perfectly on the first floor. Then we carried it upstairs and it wobbled like crazy because the second floor had a 3 degree slope I never measured... Had to shim the whole thing and redo the base trim.

Or just measure the whole house first next time, not that hard.

Used to think measuring was overkill until I messed up a tile order and had to make multiple trips for returns. Now I take 10 minutes with a laser measure and it saves me hours of headache. Appreciate the straightforward advice.
