Talking to a friend who builds tiny homes made me question open floor plans
We were looking at my kitchen layout and he said 'sometimes walls are just better for flow, you know?' I always thought open was the only way to go, but now I'm not so sure. Has anyone else found that adding a wall actually improved their space?

Our old house had a wall that made the kitchen feel way cozier.

My last apartment had a wall so thin I could hear the neighbor's toaster, so I get it, @sandra146.

Used to be all about open floor plans myself. Thought walls just made places feel cramped and dark. Then I helped a buddy renovate a split level house. The kitchen had a half wall that separated it from the living room. It actually made the kitchen feel like its own space, not just an extension of the TV area. That half wall gave the room some structure and a place to hang cabinets without blocking the view. Really changed how I look at floor plans now.
