Spent $150 on a laser level and it saved my tile backsplash job

I was gonna eyeball the lines for my kitchen backsplash last weekend, but my buddy talked me into getting a cross-line laser from Home Depot. Cost me about $150 total for a basic Huepar model. First row of tiles came out dead straight and I finished the whole thing in 4 hours without any do-overs. Has anyone else found a tool like this that actually paid for itself on one project?

150 bucks?? Man, I almost choked on my coffee reading that. I bought a $40 Stanley level from Lowe's and spent like 3 hours re-doing the first row of my bathroom tile because I kept eyeballing it wrong (huge mistake). That Huepar must be magic or something, because 4 hours for a whole backsplash with no do-overs sounds like a straight up fantasy to me. I bet it paid for itself the second you didn't have to chip off a crooked tile.

Right? I'm half convinced that Huepar runs on unicorn tears and not batteries.

Man that's rough, I've definitely been there with the eyeballing strategy going totally wrong. Glad you got it sorted out eventually even if it took a few hours.
