Question about cheap wire strippers from a big box store
I bought a $15 set that broke on the third use, stripping the insulation on a 12-gauge wire, and now I'm out both the money and an afternoon.

Come on, they work fine if you're just doing a quick fix around the house. Maybe you just got a bad pair.

Wait, nobody's talking about the steel quality in those cheap cutters. They use soft metal that dulls fast, so it pinches instead of cutting clean.

Feel your pain on a deep level. That exact thing happened to me with a cheap pair from a hardware chain. It's so frustrating to waste money AND time on tools that can't do one simple job. You really do get what you pay for with stuff like this. Saving a few bucks upfront just costs you more later.
