PSA: I skipped file organization on a 3 day kitchen remodel and paid for it all weekend
Last Thursday I started a small kitchen remodel for my aunt in Portland, just cabinets, counters, and a tile backsplash. I got cocky and kept every version of the layout in one giant file with names like "final" and "final2" and "finalREAL." By Saturday I had 14 versions open and I could not tell which one had the right outlet spacing for the microwave. I tiled over an outlet box that was only 4 inches from the edge because I used the wrong file, and I had to chip out 6 tiles to fix it. Honestly that cost me about 5 extra hours and one trip back to the store on a Sunday. Do you all name your files by date or by phase, or am I the only one who has to learn this the hard way?
