Pro tip: I hit 1000 hours in my design software and it showed me a real problem

I was cleaning up my project files last week and checked my total logged time in the program, which was way higher than I thought. It made me realize I spend too much time on small tweaks instead of the big picture layout. How do you keep track of your actual design time versus just fiddling around?

Honestly that tracking feature is a brutal wake-up call. Tbh I spent like three hours last Tuesday just trying out different border thicknesses on a single button. It's so easy to fall into that trap of perfecting tiny details while the whole page layout is still a mess. Ngl I started using a simple kitchen timer now to snap me out of it.

Totally get what you mean about that trap! I used to believe polishing every little pixel first was the right way to work. Seeing that tracked time really shows how those "just five minutes" add up to a whole lost morning. The timer idea is actually genius, gonna steal that for sure. It forces you to look at the bigger picture before you get stuck on a single button forever.

Kitchen timer saved my hide too. Setting it for 20 minute chunks keeps me from going down rabbit holes and actually forces me to step back and look at the whole layout first.
