Picked up a broken welder from a garage sale in Boise and fixed it myself
I found this old Lincoln welder at a garage sale for $40 last weekend in Boise. The guy said it was dead and he just wanted it gone. Turns out the capacitor was blown and the ground cable was chewed up, so I replaced both for about $25. It fired right up and now I have a working welder for cheap. Has anyone else taken a chance on busted equipment and gotten lucky?

She's not wrong, that's totally fair. I did give it a good long stare before plugging it in, standing behind a cinder block wall. Worst case scenario it just makes a loud noise and I'm out sixty five bucks and a pair of clean underwear. Worth it for a working welder though.
