My kitchen went from dark cave to bright in 3 weeks, here's what I changed
Three weeks ago my kitchen felt like a cave even at noon. I had one sad bulb over the sink and dark cabinets from 1998. I started by painting the cabinets a light cream color, which took two weekends and about $80 in paint. Then I swapped the single bulb for a 3-bulb track light aimed at the counter, around $45 at the hardware store. I also moved the microwave off the counter to a shelf so light could hit the backsplash. The room now feels twice as big even though nothing moved. What's the first thing you'd change in a dark room like this?
