Just realized I was overthinking my color palette for house paint

For years I'd pick paint colors by grabbing 10 swatches from the hardware store and comparing them on the wall. I'd drive myself crazy looking at them in morning light, afternoon light, and under lamps. Then my neighbor came over last weekend and said just pick the one that makes you feel calm when you walk in the room. She's a designer who does this for a living. I tried her method on my kitchen and went with a soft green I'd never considered. It was way faster and honestly the room feels better now. Has anyone else found that your first gut feeling about a color usually works out better than overthinking it?

Same here. Picked a blue gray in five minutes, best paint I ever used.

Swear by that color, @gavin_mason31. Had a similar deal with a greenish gray in my hallway and it just worked, no fuss at all. Sometimes you just know the second you see it, right?
