I finally swapped my drafting table for a standing desk setup
I've been sketching out floor plans on the same old drafting table for maybe 8 years, never saw a reason to switch. Then last week I watched a furniture maker at a workshop in Portland explain how his whole workflow changed when he raised everything to standing height. He showed me how his lines got straighter and his back stopped aching after 5 hours of layout work. I tried it on my next kitchen remodel plan, and I actually finished the elevations in half the time. The key was getting my elbow at a 90 degree angle and using a mat with a 30 degree tilt. Has anyone else made this jump and found a specific chair or stool that works for the in-between moments, or do you just stand the whole session?
