Hand drafting vs CAD, do we lose something real when we go all digital?
I drew my first site plan by hand in 2006 in Fort Worth and switched fully to CAD in 2011, but whenever I grab a pencil now the lines feel more honest, so is the speed worth the loss of that rough thought process, or am I just being nostalgic?

What changed for you between 2006 and 2011 that made you go full CAD? I ask because I notice the same thing, a quick pencil sketch lets me test a dumb idea and throw it out, but in CAD I end up committing to stuff way too early because drawing clean lines takes real work. Hand drafting forces you to sit with a bad idea longer, and sometimes that friction is where the good fix shows up. So is it the pencil itself or the slower pace that feels more honest to you?
